from the president:
Choosing
an inspector should be based on the inspector’s experience
and knowledge of the structural and working components of
the home. It is important that the inspector is affiliated
with a recognized association that adheres to an established
code of ethics and formal standards of practice. The inspector
you choose should be a member of such associations and professional
organizations which require members to commit to lifelong
learning
and continuing education. As the President of Smart Start
Building Inspections and having over 15 years experience in
the construction, home building, and home improvement industry,
I feel strongly that you should take a few moments to get
to know your inspector. After all, buying your home is a big
decision which takes careful consideration, so choosing an
inspector should not be taken lightly. Don’t make your
decision based on price alone, because remember…you
get what you pay for.
